1. Our Service Model
Affordable Airfares UK acts as a travel agent, not a tour operator. We search for and arrange flights and flight-inclusive packages on your behalf through our network of licensed, ATOL-protected supplier partners. We do not operate flights or accommodation directly.
There is no charge for making an enquiry. You only pay when you confirm a booking and receive a booking confirmation from us or our supplier partner.
2. Before You Book
When you submit an enquiry, we will provide you with a quote. Quotes are subject to availability and may change before you confirm your booking. No payment is taken at the enquiry stage. You are under no obligation to proceed with any quote we provide.
3. After You Book — Cancellation by You
Once you have confirmed a booking and payment has been taken:
- Cancellation terms are governed by the airline and/or supplier’s own cancellation policy, which will be provided to you at the time of booking.
- Many airline tickets are non-refundable once issued, or may carry significant cancellation charges. We will always make these terms clear before you confirm.
- If your ticket or package allows cancellation, we will process your cancellation request with the supplier on your behalf. Any refund due will be subject to the supplier’s terms and timelines.
- Affordable Airfares UK does not charge a cancellation administration fee. However, our supplier partners may apply their own cancellation charges, which will be deducted from any refund.
4. Refund Timelines
Where a refund is due:
- We will submit the refund request to the airline or supplier within 2 working days of receiving your cancellation request.
- Airline and supplier refunds typically take 7–28 working days to process, depending on the airline and payment method.
- Once we receive the refund from the supplier, we will pass it to you within 5 working days.
- Refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
We will keep you informed of the refund status throughout the process. If there are delays from the airline or supplier, we will chase on your behalf.
5. Changes to Your Booking
If you wish to change your travel dates, destination, passenger details, or other booking elements after confirmation:
- We will check with the airline or supplier whether the change is possible and at what cost.
- Change fees are set by the airline or supplier, not by Affordable Airfares UK. These fees will be communicated to you before any change is processed.
- Name changes on airline tickets are generally not permitted after ticket issuance. In some cases, the ticket must be cancelled and re-booked, which may result in a fare difference.
6. Cancellation by the Airline or Supplier
If the airline cancels your flight or the supplier cancels your package:
- You are entitled to a full refund or an alternative flight/package, in accordance with the airline’s or supplier’s terms and applicable UK aviation regulations.
- For ATOL-protected bookings, if the supplier fails financially, your booking is protected under the ATOL scheme and you will be entitled to a refund or repatriation.
- We will assist you in securing your refund or rebooking at no additional charge.
7. Flight-Inclusive Packages
For flight-inclusive holiday packages (flight + accommodation booked together), the Package Travel Regulations 2018 apply. Under these regulations:
- You have the right to cancel before departure, subject to a reasonable cancellation charge.
- If significant changes are made to your package, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a full refund.
- If the organiser (our supplier partner) becomes insolvent, your booking is financially protected via their ATOL licence.
8. Complaints

9. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law. If you believe your rights have not been met, you may contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) or the Civil Aviation Authority (caa.co.uk) for guidance.
