What to have ready for the call

  • Passport details: Your full name, passport number, issue/expiry dates and nationality exactly as they appear on your British passport.
  • Travel dates: Your intended date of arrival in Saudi Arabia. The EVW must be submitted between 90 days and 48 hours before departure.

Requirements for British passport holders

  • Passport validity: A valid UK passport with at least 6 months' validity remaining from your arrival date.
  • No biometrics: British citizens using the EVW programme are exempt from the Saudi Visa Bio mobile app.
  • Scope of travel: Valid for Umrah (outside the official Hajj season), tourism, business or study.
  • Visa conditions: Single entry, allowing a stay of up to 6 months (180 days) within the Kingdom.

  • Travel bookings: Confirmed round-trip flight tickets and your official Hotel HCN (Hotel Confirmation Number/Voucher) covering your entire stay in Makkah and Madinah.
  • Residency share code: A 9-character share code generated from the official UK government website to prove your immigration status.
  • Saudi Visa Bio app: Download the official "Saudi Visa Bio" app and scan your passport, face and fingerprints to complete biometric verification. A successful scan generates your unique Biometric Enrolment Number.

Female photo mandate: in line with updated Saudi Nusuk regulations, all digital passport-sized photos for female applicants must feature a hijab on a plain background.
